Services : Investment Management
ICM is a fee-only firm. We receive no compensation of any kind other than that paid by our clients. Thus, our investment advice is dictated by what is best for you and you alone. If there is a potential conflict of interest, we will disclose that when we give you advice so that you are able to make a well-informed choice.
Asset Management - Our Process
- Asset allocation
ICM CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals will design an asset allocation that matches your financial goals, time horizon, and risk tolerance. Together we draft an Investment Policy Statement that specifies these goals, risks, asset allocation and other requirements related to investments.
In order to implement the asset allocation that we have chosen, we select no-load mutual funds. We primarily use mutual funds from Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA) for their broad diversification, low cost, and their investor-friendly process (click here to learn more about DFA). At times, we may supplement with ETFs, index funds and other no-load mutual funds, especially for tax management. For some clients with significant assets we may also use individual stock managers.
Your accounts are held at Charles Schwab & Co. for your convenience and the security of your assets.
- Asset Monitoring
We monitor and rebalance your managed accounts according to the Investment Policy Statement that we have put together for you based on your requirements and feedback. Rebalancing is crucial for maximizing returns and managing volatility. At regular review meetings, we’ll discuss your portfolio and answer your questions. We want to make sure you clearly understand what you’re invested in and why.
